Characterizing Characters
One thing we observed about Holden Caulfield was how quickly he made judgments about people based off the quickest observation of what they looked like, what they said, and what they did. Today you are going to judge the characters in your book the same way.
- Choose the three most important characters in your book right now.
- Starting with one, look in the book at what they look like, say, and do. Select quotes from the book which best describe this character in these ways.
- Use these quotes as evidence in a blog post that answers the question, “What kind of person is the character, and how do you know it?” Write a paragraph answering that question for each of the three characters you’ve chosen.
